It finally happened: caught fish

tag(s): #fishing

I was about to write either tea or anime reviews, but both would be longish. I am a bit tired and sleepy, today we went out for a hike (plus kiddo and I did a hike yesterday with his scout troop).
And also, as the title spoiled, we went out fishing after getting back, so we spent like 2 hours in the sun at Oradell.

Today, after like 9 months (or maybe more?) (I CHECKED: closer to a year, going by this post) of fishing, I caught not one, but three fish. And got a fourth one lined up for the kid.

They were small, like 10~12 centimeters long. But I don't care, it was exciting and fun. We returned then all, except one of them was very tangled on the treble hook and I got super nervous about killing the fish when pulling it out. After three or four a panicked attempts at getting the hook off, I just cut it with the pliers. [1]
So the fish was alive, but with a hook hanging from its mouth. Did I condemn the little guy? I would like to think it will live a happy, long life. And maybe someone more experienced catches it again and manages to remove the extra hook.

It was really fun to catch something, and it felt like a reward for the perseverance.
Now I need to watch a few videos on how to remove hooks properly. 👀

Delayed publishing

I wrote everything above last night at about 11:30pm, and I was really sleepy. Good thing I didn't publish until now, it had more mistakes than usual.
So until this section, everything referencing "today" and "yesterday" is off by one day.

Another advantage, last night I was lazy about adding a "fishing" tag, but now I just did it. And added a few older posts that reference the topic.

Footnotes
  1. Long live Leatherman. These days the Signal stays at home, and kiddo will inherit it when he is older. I carry a Curl now.
